उतो रयिः पर्णतो नोप दस्यत्युताप्र्णन्मर्डितारं न विन्दते ||
"The riches of the liberal never waste away, while he who will not give finds none to comfort him."
Srimad Bhagavatam: 10.22.35
एतावज्जन्मसाफल्यं देहिनामिह देहिषु ।

"One should always diligently perform, with faith, sacrifices and other religious acts; done with faith, and with well-begotten wealth, they become imperishable."
Rig Veda: 10.117.6
मोघमन्नं विन्दते अप्रचेताः
सत्यं ब्रवीमि वध इत्स तस्य।
नार्यमणं पुष्यति नो सखायं
केवलाघो भवति केवलादी॥
"The food of that person who does not share it with others is a waste indeed. I truly say this, that his food becomes his death, not his life. Eating for himself alone, he becomes a consumer of sin alone!"
Bhagavad Gita: 18.5
यज्ञदानतप:कर्म न त्याज्यं कार्यमेव तत् ।
यज्ञो दानं तपश्चैव पावनानि मनीषिणाम् ॥
"Acts of sacrifice, charity and penance are not to be given up; they must be performed. Indeed, sacrifice, charity and penance purify even the great souls."
Manusmriti: 4.227
